Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17

Mission Statement:

To develop and promote men who love and fear God (Psalms 118:8 and Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14)

Vision Statement:
To develop a ministry which addresses the fellowship needs of men at ECCC and in the local communities, and to provide an environment for men to grow in Jesus Christ through the teaching and studying of His Word.
Monthly Men’s Study
Join us as we begin our 2011 season of monthly Bible studies. We are offering morning sessions at 8:00AM on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We will begin July 16 with biblical discussions for men.

Accountability in Men’s Lives
The scriptures tell us that we are to sharpen one another like iron sharpening iron. The men of ECCC have developed accountability relationships among themselves. The concept is for a small group of men to get together on a regular basis to get to know one another, pray together and ask each other the tough questions about how their personal life is going. The Men’s Ministry seeks to assist in matching men with other Christian men in these relationships.

Fellowship Events
Opportunities for the men of ECCC to come together in fellowship are planned on a periodic basis. Examples have included cookouts, sports events (NBA finals), and golf outings. These are excellent opportunities for men to get to know one another better and build relationships.

Community Men’s Fellowship
The men of ECCC will also fellowship with men of other local churches on a monthly basis. This has been a very successful event where we meet with three other churches on a Saturday morning that ECCC is not meeting. These meeting are typically held at the Branch Christian Church.
Recreation
The Men’s Ministry will periodically join with the Women’s Ministry and sponsor an evening of bowling or a movie night for those looking for some exercise and fun. One of our favorite is attending drag race events. Evangelism is the philosophy behind the recreational opportunities that are sponsored by the Men’s Ministry.

Service and Home Repair Projects:
ECCC is blessed with a few men who are gifted tradesmen, carpenters, A/C repairman, etc. that will schedule home repair and maintenance projects where men of the church will work together to provide needed support. This might be a home of a congregation member, or it might include work on a church project or other buildings in our community.
